Steamed brown rice pudding is healthy version. Brown rice with jaggery and coconut. This can be served for breakfast or perfect evening tea time snacks.
Coconut and jaggery makes it more healthy. Jaggery is healthy sweetner which adds iron to your diet.
Brown rice cake. Vegan steamed cake
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Brown Rice (भूरा चावल)
- 1/2 cup Grated Coconut (नारियल)
- 1 Cup Grated Jaggery (गुड़)
- 2 tbsp 2 tbsp Cashews (काजू)
- 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp Cardamom (इलायची)
- Pinch of Salt (नमक)
Method
- Clean, rinse and soak rice in water for 4-5 hours.
- Discard the water in which rice was soaked.
- Add grated coconut, jaggery, salt, cashews and cardamom.
- Blend it well using little water.
- You can steam it right away or let it rest for 45 minutes.
- Grease the pan and pour the dough in the pan.
- Steam it for 35-40 minutes.
- Once it is cooled down You can invert it on a plate.
- Cut into desired slices and serve.
Notes
Rice cake can be steamed or baked.
It can be steamed on turmeric leaf or banan leaf.
The flavour of turmeric leaf gets absorbed in the cake.
You can add dry fruits of your choice. This is perfect during travelling time.
