Coconut Soy Chunk Curry

How to make spicy Soy Chunk Curry.  Meaty flavour of soy and sweetness of coconut combined with garlic and ginger spices along with other spices.


½ cup dry soya chunks

1 ½ cup grated coconut

1 tsp dry coriander seeds

1 inch ginger

4-5 garlic cloves

5 tbsp chopped onion

½ tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chilli powder

1 green chilli

Lemon size tamarind ball

1 tsp oil




Soak soya chunks in hot water and add salt and keep aside for 10 minutes.

Take fresh grated coconut, add all the spices garlic, ginger, onion, red chilli powder, corainder seeds,  tamarind, turmeric and grind it using little water.

Strain the water and break soya chunks in small peices.

Take oil in  a pan, add chopped onion and stir for 2-3 minutes.

Add soya chunks. and stir fry for another 2-3 minutes.

Add coconut paste and add water to adjust the consistency.

Add salt and stir.

Add chopped corainder leaves and bring to one boil.

Serve with rice, roti or dosa.
